Shabby chic wooden box/ Cutie de lemn - shabby chic

Hello, Some time ago I bought from the internet a wooden box that I thought to be smaller than it actually is...From the pictures you might not see it, but it is huge..:) Initially, I wanted to decorate it using a paper napkin, but because of the dimensions I switched to rice paper. It is the first time I worked with rice paper for a greater scale project...and I can tell you...it is better than paper napkin. Rice paper, though very thin, is sturdier and has a better structure than paper napkins. The technique is a classic shabby chic and I used some transfer paper from Stamperia to add some text here and there. The top of the box: one of the sides: and from an angle:

Decoupage on wooden board - African theme / Tehnica servetelului pe lemn - tema africana

Hello, Lately it seems I'm coming back to the first technique that brought me to the handmade world...decoupage. Here's a wall art piece finished yesterday: I used a paper napkin with an African theme, some coordinating acrylic paints, and to make it look really old, crackle lacquer and some stamps. To seal everything, I applied two coats of matt varnish. The wooden base is actually a shelf board.

Decoupage on glass / Tehnica servetelului pe sticla

Hello, Last week I finally got around to making my first experiments with decoupage on glass. I decorated a plate and a glass fitted with a copper frame. For the plate I used a paper napkin with lemons: For the framed glass I used a paper napkin with vintage roses.  The decoupage technique is done in revers when working on glass, because we work on the back of the glass.

The little birthady girl / Fetita cu cadoul

Hello, Here's a new birthday card I made for my favorite two years old little friend ...:) The digi stamp is WeeSuzi from Wee Stamps , cored with chalk. As the stamp is quite big, I made a gate fold A5 card embellished with flowers from a Sizzix  cutters and stamps set. Card size: A5
